Industry Award Speech Receives Standing Ovation

Problem:

Industry Achievement award thank you speech. Sr VP provides a half hour’s worth of material for speech to be delivered on the 3rd day of their AGM. Speech must hold focus, not bore people, have meaning, and leave a wow factor. Text is too lengthy, wordy.

“…and it was a highlight of his career”

Solution:

Speech is evaluated for critical messages and ability to include audience. Text is reduced to a 5-10 min limit. Emphasis is placed on his relationship and appreciation of the impact people have had on his career. Anecdotal stories included. Delivery is coached over 2 sessions emphasizing connectedness to the audience through: posture, pacing, emphasis, emotional tone.

Editing of the speech is done with SVP present, due to his intensely personal anecdotal remarks. The result was a thunderous standing ovation, with the front half of the audience moved to tears, and the highlight of his speeches in lengthy career.
